Launch of Household Income and Expenditure Survey in Sharjah Emirate
The Department of Statistics and Community Development (DSCD) in Sharjah Emirate has commenced data collection for the Household Income and Expenditure Survey in the Emirate, leveraging the latest technological solutions provided by RealSoft Advanced Applications. This survey aims to build an understanding of the economic situation of households in the Emirate, facilitating better economic and social decision-making by providing data on household income from various sources such as salaries, allowances, and income from other economic activities. Additionally, it aims to provide data on how households spend and allocate funds, enabling a deeper understanding of their priorities and needs.
This survey will continue for twelve months, during which a sample of households will be visited, and data related to household income and expenditure will be collected using surveys. A team of field researchers will visit all targeted households across various regions of the Emirate, interviewing the head of each household to gather detailed information about the family and its members, along with additional data related to household income and expenditure.
It’s worth noting that the DSCD has adopted tablet devices for this survey. The researchers have been equipped with tablets featuring geographical maps and aerial images, displaying the locations of surveyed households. These tablets are also equipped with specialized data collection systems tailored to the survey’s nature. The collected data is transmitted to the central database, allowing the quality assurance and audit team to review and audit the data before analysis and publication. Additionally, the provided solution will offer a system for managing field operations, enabling field management to define work teams, distribute tasks among researchers, and review field progress in real-time.
The systems used in this survey are designed and built based on Al-Khwarizmi platform for statistical surveys. This advanced platform specializes in designing and building statistical forms, regardless of their complexity, without the need for programming effort (Low Code – No Code). It is currently utilized by many statistical centers, including statistical programs covering all types of surveys, censuses, and polls, ensuring ease of use, prompt results extraction, and guaranteeing the quality and accuracy of statistical data.
